I love being outdoors and in winter, that means hitting the slopes. I’m not likely to be an Olympic champion, but I am absolutely a solid, green hill skier. Here’s the thing. The best moments in our lives are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times, although such experiences can also be enjoyable, if we have worked hard to attain them. The best moments are those “in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter; the experience is so enjoyable that people will do it even at great cost, for the sheer sake of doing it.”
Start by identifying identifying the attributes that give you the greatest sense of flow, and use those to set goals for this year.
Q: How do I use Catalyst for goal planning?
A: Start by using Everything DiSC on Catalyst to explore your style, strengths, and opportunities. Check out these three sections:
Your Story: List your strengths and how you can develop or utilize them more throughout the year to achieve something new or gain momentum.
Your Motivators & Stressors: List the motivators that you currently have in your life today and how you can spend more time on those types of activities this year. List your stressors that you have in your life today and how you can minimize or eliminate them this year.
Develop Yourself: Consider the recommendations in this section as ways you can round yourself out. How might implementing these recommendations give you more traction?
You might also have additional features in Catalyst like:
Agile EQ: Explore these modules to identify your natural mindsets and ways to build your stretch mindsets so you can be more confident, prepared, and successful in any situation.
Management: Use these modules to identify ways to create a higher performing team. The stronger your team is, the better chance you’ll have of achieving your professional and personal goals.

What would I have by the end of this year if I spend more time doing those things?
Why is achieving the outcomes in question 2 important to me?
What small steps or habits can I put in place to get started today and to keep my momentum strong throughout the year?

A: Absolutely! In fact, everything I’ve written above works at work and at home. Your style transcends all aspects of your life. Consider relationships you’d like to establish or improve, how you’d like your living space to look to create a state of flow, and even the types of activities that align with your style to achieve your personal wellness goals. Each aspect of your life fuels the others.
